Khaled Al Ghamdi watched protests oust long-time strongmen in Tunisia and Egypt earlier this year, but he never thought he would see the same outpouring of popular anger across the borders of his home country.

Last week, when he saw on Facebook that Saudis were planning a “day of rage” in the world’s biggest oil exporter on March 11 and 20, he was one of the first to spread the news.

The 29-year-old engineer said: “It is about time we changed too. We, like others elsewhere, love this country and we want to see a constitutional monarchy, political freedom, fair distribution of wealth and an end to corruption. We want to feel we have a say in the future of Saudi Arabia.” [...]
